Duke Of Edinburgh
Students of year 9 at Georges River Grammar are enabled the chance to join the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Program. This extra-curricular, self-development activity allows students to enter a non-competitive program where they set and achieve activities that they have created to target personal goals.
With the aid of skilled teachers, students undertake a journey that requires them to complete Community Services, Physical Recreational activities, Adventurous Journeys and to develop their own personal skills, which result in the students obtaining their award.
This activity is widely regarded not only within our region but also across Australia and even in selected national countries, where employers value students who have completed the lengthy and challenging program. Georges River Grammar is never short of volunteers to attempt the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Program, and our school encourages students to participate in this beneficial program.
