Debutante Ball
A debutante’ is a girl or young lady who has reached the age of maturity and, as a new adult, is introduced to society at a formal event called the Debutante Ball. The Debutante Ball has been a part of the Georges River Grammar Schools’ community for as long as its existence. Since 1987 till today, the Debutante Balls’ importance has resonated strongly within the schools culture.
The evening requires the Debutantee to wear a white dress similar to a wedding dress (without the trail). It is also customary for the female to ask a male to the débutante ball, as the boys are usually not allowed to part take in the event unless they are asked. The Débutante ball students who attend in the official proceedings must learn a series of three choreographed dances, which must be performed on the night followed by an intimate dinner and speeches. Georges River Grammars Debutante Ball is a highly recognized and memorable event that allows family and friends to embrace the beauty of a girl becoming a woman.
